Waiting on Wednesday #1

"Waiting On" Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted here, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

I have several listed, but I'll only post two this week ...

MAGIC UNDER GLASS by Jaclyn Dolamore [published: December 2009 (US) / February 2010 (UK)]
Nimira is a music-hall performer forced to dance for pennies to an audience of leering drunks. When wealthy sorcerer Hollin Parry hires her to do a special act - singing accompaniment to an exquisite piano-playing automaton, Nimira believes it is the start of a new life. In Parry's world, however, buried secrets stir. Unsettling below-stairs rumours abound about ghosts, a mad woman roaming the halls, and of Parry's involvement in a gang of ruthless sorcerers who torture fairies for sport. When Nimira discovers the spirit of a dashing young fairy gentleman is trapped inside the automaton's stiff limbs, waiting for someone to break the curse and set him free, the two fall in love. But it is a love set against a dreadful race against time to save the entire fairy realm, which is in mortal peril.

ANASTASIA'S SECRET by Susanne Dunlap [published: March 2010]
The youngest grand duchess in the Russian imperial family comes of age during the revolution. Her family is imprisoned, conditions become worse and worse. But Anastasia has a secret that she keeps from her family, a love that endures through the horrors of war and the privation of imprisonment and deprivation. Will her love save her from the fate her family seems destined for? Or is she a creation of a rarefied atmosphere, unable to survive without her loved ones?

Aren't these covers STUNNING?! Especially the US cover for Magic Under Glass (left) - that has got to be one of the most amazing covers ever! But the other two are incredibly gorgeous and the stories sound great so I cannot wait for these books to come out, even though it's going to be a loooong wait ...
